The Moisture Featured, Reviews Film Threat

Directed by Turan Haste and written by Furkan Dasbilek, The Moisture (Rutubet) may be only 20 minutes long but has the depth and appeal of a 2-hour feature film. Ishak (Mucahit Locak) is a teacher in the rural mountains of Anatolia. His life is a disaster because his soon-to-be ex refuses to let him see his son during his upcoming week-long vacation. As best he can, Ishak shows courage at school, hoping his students will do the right thing. This is easier said than done because Yusuf (Muhammed Mayda) constantly causes trouble. He spit cotton balls at a student in the front row. He kept giggling while reading silently. The child pushes Ishak to the point of despair. But things take a turn for the worse when a student goes missing. Did Yusuf go too far with his pranks? Can an admired teacher help find a student? Also, is she okay? Humidity gets a lot of mileage from adjusting it. Snow covered every inch outside while the cold air enveloped everyone inside. Additionally, the “humidity” of the title is like a mist, a haze that prevents the macrocosm from making sense to the people in their rural mountain town. The haste to establish this position from the first frame and the environmental grip on the entire viewing process doesn’t stop until the credits roll.

Locak was notably an outstanding teacher. It is easy to see Ishak’s love for his student and his concern for the missing student drives the story forward. Mayda is excellent. It doesn’t portray Yusuf as a troublemaker but instead turns him into an anxious person who doesn’t know how to properly deal with his emotions and the world around him. The other actors are also excellent. Dasbilek’s script provides just enough personal information for the audience to sympathize with the characters. It also includes just the right amount of world permeation so that the most important implications have an impact without losing the focus of the story. The ending is very special, leaving viewers with many things to ponder and hope that everything will go well for these characters. The Moisture was only Haste’s second film. If this is to be believed, the filmmaker has a remarkable career ahead of him. Check this out ASAP. You won’t be disappointed.
