Gran Turismo Film Critique: A Comprehensive Review
We’ve all had the experience of watching a movie that looks and sounds tacky, but turns out to be surprisingly good in the end, making us question our own existence, the meaning of life, and our ability to judge people, places, and things objectively. Gran Turismo is a racing drama about a video game player who overcomes obstacles to become a professional driver. Directed by Neill Blomkamp, known for his sci-fi films like District 9, the film is not a seemingly ready-to-rent movie like Gran Turismo, but a stunning racetrack-filled movie directed by Neill Blomkamp. Provides fun and excitement.
It doesn’t break any new ground, but it harks back to the tried-and-true underdog sports genre, and it works. It also helps that Gran Turismo is based on a true story. Otherwise, the concept might have been a hard sell. Archie Madekwe proves to be an outstanding choice for the cast, his charisma and drive elevating the material even further. And David Harbor gives one of the best performances of his career in a role that thousands of other actors would have done nothing for. he is excellent Orlando Bloom also appears in this film, but his character is inconsistent and doesn’t get much attention. Gran Turismo doesn’t offer award-winning quality, but it delivers all the way to the checkered flag. I feel lost and in my own disbelief about what is happening and what is being done.
