Fast X Director Teases Franchise Ending
Fast X director Louis Leterrier knew how the series would end. The Fast & Furious franchise, which began in 2001 with a humble film about illegal Los Angeles street racers stealing DVD players, is about to enter its epic finale with Fast X. One or two left. In another movie, Fast X will serve as the final prologue by introducing the franchise’s most fearsome villain to date – Dante (Jason Momoa), the son of Fast Five’s Brazilian drug lord. , Hernan Reyes.
What I can tell you is that we know exactly where the franchise ends today. We know where we end up. The paths we’ll take will be different, but we know where it all ends and I as a fan know that’s both satisfying and truly surprising. As you know, fan service is complicated because you want to deliver the right things, but you want to surprise people, you don’t want to give them exactly what you know people expect from the Fast & Furious series, where it will end.
How The Fast & Furious Franchise Could End
The Fast & Furious franchise was previously scheduled to end with a two-part finale – the untitled Fast X and Fast 11. However, during the world premiere of Fast X, Vin Diesel apparently revealed that the end of the trilogy, and thus, Fast & Furious 12, is currently in the works. Whether the franchise ends with the eleventh or twelfth movie, it seems Leterrier already knows exactly how it will end and has already begun to plant the seeds for Fast X.
Since the franchise is so popular for families, it has long been assumed that Fast Saga will end with a Toretto family barbecue. It will continue the tradition for the franchise following Toretto’s first barbecue in 2001 in The Fast and the Furious, and the friendly family gatherings that served as the final scene for Fast & Furious 6, The Fate of the Furious and F9. It remains to be seen whether it’s a happy ending or a bittersweet ending, though Leterrier has previously hinted that Fast X and Fast 11 can kill off the main characters.
