4 Star Wars Planets In Ahsoka (& Where It Was Filmed)

The MCU’s upcoming Captain America: Brave New World movie will be Marvel Studios’ first true test when it comes to legacy heroes. Starring Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson as the next Captain America, the former Falcon chose to accept and wield the iconic shield following the events of Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Now, the fourth Captain America film will serve as a critical proving ground when it comes to superhero replacements and continuing legacies in the MCU. As seen in Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sam Wilson initially struggled to take on Steve Rogers’ mantle despite being given the shield at the end of Avengers: Endgame. However, Wilson has since accepted the shield, becoming the next Captain America with the belief that America can be better than it currently is, wanting to protect that potential regardless of the past and any current controversies that may arise in his taking on the role. Now Wilson is set to star in his own Captain America movie, Brave New World, which will be the MCU’s first real test when it comes to ancient heroes.

Arcana

9

Ahsoka visited Arcana shortly after confronting Morgan Elsbeth to search for the map leading to Grand Admiral Thrawn. The planet was a stronghold for the Nightsister witches of Dathomir in ancient times, and many of their structures were still intact. Until now, the Nightsisters have been confined to Dathomir in Star Wars, but Arcana suggests that they were a far-reaching civilization at some point in time. This would explain how a human such as Morgan could be a Nightsister, as Dathomirian women are much paler with black facial tattoos. The complex underground structures also reveal a less magic-based side of the Nightsisters.

Lothal

10

Ahsoka finally brings Lothal, Ezra Bridger’s home planet and famous location from the animated Star Wars Rebels, to life. Despite its simple appearance, Lothal has a rich and pivotal history in the Star Wars timeline, and was also home to the Jedi Temple, visited several times by Ezra and his master Kanan Jarrus. The temple contained murals of the Force gods of Mortis, but more importantly, it served as the gateway to the World Between Worlds. Lothal was one of the first planets to push back the Empire before the Rebel Alliance had scored its first victory, thanks to Ezra and the Ghost crew.

Seatos

11

A dark world of seas, rocky outcrops, and red forests, Cetos was once inhabited by “ancient people from a distant galaxy.” This mysterious civilization left behind a star chart-powered mechanism that reveals the way to Peridea, which leads travelers to other galaxies. A language identified by Ahsoka in the credits suggests a connection to the ancient Sith, and some images seem to depict Purgil taking Ezra and Thrawn into hyperspace. Whoever these people are, their stories about Sheetos could rewrite the Star Wars timeline and open up new storytelling opportunities for the series.

Corellia

12

The shipbuilding company Corellia, which once built Star Destroyers for the Imperial Navy, transitioned to redeploying components to the New Republic Defense Fleet. Unfortunately, many citizens remained loyal to the Empire after its fall, working secretly to supply ship parts for Imperial projects. This makes Han Solo’s upbringing all the more tragic, as Corellia was his hometown that suffered greatly during Imperial occupation. Especially since the empire ruled Corellia, children like him were forced to join gangs to survive, so if his people still held allegiance to the empire he was fighting against, he would be forced to join them. It was probably devastating for Han to find out. Corellia now represents a broad New Republic issue that could be addressed in the remaining Ahsoka episodes. Episode 2 confirmed that the former imperialists still hold positions of power at all levels of the New Republic government, which was hinted at in The Mandalorian season 3. This hinted at the eventual rise of the First Order, who had spies in the New Republic Senate long before they launched their invasion of the galaxy. Corellia is now an integral part of Star Wars’ past, present, and future, and time will tell what further role this planet will play in Ahsoka and the rest of the Mandoverse.
